One of the Local Legends

The Crocodile

How doth the little crocodile
Improve his shining tail,
And pour the waters of the Nile
On every golden scale!

How cheerfully he seems to grin
How neatly spreads his claws,
And welcomes little fishes in,
With gently smiling jaws!

Our local legend pours the waters of a small lake outside of Pocri on his golden scales as he welcomes little fishes, among other things into his smiling jaws.   There were rumours that he had been moved but it looks like he’s still there cruising the waters.  Toot the horn of the car and he rises to the surface waiting for passersby to throw him chicken.  Apparently this stops him from dining on the cattle that come to drink from the same waters.

Life is never boring in the waters of the campo.

I saw plenty of them in Florida! Is he big enough to take down a cow? wow.

Actually he occupies a watering hole that cattle us. I think his diet of chicken is keeping him satisfied but he is quite large!

      • Kris says:

A large crocodile in the watering hole. That doesn’t sound like the best plan, especially if you are a cow! (or the cow is your livelihood) In Florida they consider crocodiles good eating. Maybe it’s time for a BBQ 😀
