The WP Photo Challenge this week asks us to tell a story with a snapshot that reveals a bit about a place, or show where we live — or a path that we often take.
We’d been aware all week that there would be a big political rally in the pueblo on Friday afternoon. When we heard the booming music carrying to our back porch it was obvious that it had arrived in town. We’d learned from our maestra de español that Mireya Moscoso, a Pedasieño and the first female president of Panama and Marta Linares de Martinelli the spouse of the current president would be in attendance.
This is just a snapshot of the scene at the end of our street at the beginning of the rally in the twilight hours of the campo.

Lots of new SUVs! How often do you see those in your area?
Those were what the security people were driving. We always know when Mireya is in town by increase in the amount of Toyota Prados and the gentlemen walking around with ear pieces talking into their chests. 🙂
