Snapshot Sunday ~ 17/04/2016

A couple of days ago SU noticed that Dos Gatos were looking at something below where they were laying.  * SU grabbed the camera, the first four photos are his.  🙂

What they were looking at was a Praying Mantis, the adult version.  That bug was a brave bug; it crawled up to face Dos Gatos.  They left it alone and watched it with curiosity until they got bored.

I’d be leaving it alone, too. Ms Mantis appears to be a bit mean and nasty.

You are both becoming quite the nature photographers! These shots are great. I don’t have cats, but will assume that raw praying mantis is not appealing to them as a snack.

Thank you! It’s amazing the things you see when you aren’t looking, but you are paying attention. 🙂 I think this bug was feisty enough that they figured it wasn’t worth their time. Grasshoppers on the other hand are fair game.

  3. Oh my goodness, especially the ones with its wings open, really beautiful!!

When people ask me how I manage to get pictures of the different critters and bugs I tell them that you have to be willing to take the time to see what is out there. If one doesn’t take the time to see what else besides us is out there you miss so much. 🙂

I'd love to hear from you!
