¡Qué bonito! Sunset Over the Ocean

Our house faces the East and we get the lovely morning sunrise when it chooses to show itself. We aren’t often in a spot on The Peninsula to see the sunset, that is the domain of the West side, The Sunset Coast.

When we travel further, closer to the tip of the Azuero Peninsula, we can often see the sun as it sinks over the ocean.  We had just such an opportunity last night while we were out at a lovely beach restaurant celebrating our friends’ wedding anniversary.

It pleased me to see for Photo 101, Day 15 the theme is “Landscape and Cropping”.  I had fun experimenting with the panoramic feature on my phone but, the more the sun began to sink behind the hill the faster it went.  Today’s theme gives me the opportunity to share some of that beautiful sunset from last night..in the campo.

Thank you! It never ceases to amaze me though that the sun gets to a certain point in the sky and then… Bloop! It’s gone!

  1. Beautiful photos! The way the colors change as the sun is setting amazes me.

Thank you. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of sunrises and sunsets. There’s a song there somewhere… 🙂

Karen, theses are gorgeous shots. I get the sunrise as well from the villa I rent, and can’t really see the sunset because it’s behind the trees. I love both early morning and end of day light, and you do a great job of capturing the subtle changes. Strong work.

Thanks Pam! It helps when we have to travel and one of us is a stickler for time. We were the first of our group of six there so I had some time to watch the light on the water. Sometimes that’s just as nice as the sunset. 🙂

The place we were at was a private residence that was bought by the Buenaventura group a couple of years ago. It’s a cute little nine room resort right now. They’ve just begun redeveloping the property. Hopefully they’ll be able to maintain some of the integrity of the original part as it is quite pretty.

  3. I love pictures with the sun and clouds, especially evening photos. Great job!

Thank you! It’s a pretty easy job to do when the subject matter is so magnificent. 😊

I'd love to hear from you!
