Music Monday ~ Grace

Grace is extensive and vast and it’s offensive in a sense. When we feel undeserving, it finds us there. And, this song announces that and I feel like it gives permission to turn around and come back home. ~ Crowder ~

I love all music, it doesn’t matter what kind.  I have to qualify that, I don’t like music that is demeaning, too harsh on my delicate ears or full of profanity.  Every once in a while that means that a nice slow tempo song about hope, redemption and grace.

In Panama we often hear the phrase; “Gracia a Dios”.  This means; grace to God or grace of God.  People will use it for anything from answering how they are; “Bien, gracia a Dios.” “Well, grace to God.” To talking about the weather; “Tenemos una brisa hoy, gracia a Dios.”  “We have a breeze today, grace to God.”

Too often we forget about “grace”.  The word “grace” comes from the Greek word charis, from which the word “charity” is derived.  Grace/charity, interchangeable words.  Wouldn’t it be great if we could all spread a little to those who have none, and even perhaps ourselves…in the campo.

Come As You Are

Come out of sadness
From wherever you’ve been
Come broken-hearted
Let rescue begin
Come find your mercy
Oh sinner come kneel
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can’t heal
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can’t heal

So lay down your burdens
Lay down your shame
All who are broken
Lift up your face
Oh wanderer come home
You’re not too far
So lay down your hurt
Lay down your heart
Come as you are

There’s hope for the hopeless
And all those who’ve strayed
Come sit at the table
Come taste the grace
There’s rest for the weary
Rest that endures
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can’t cure

So lay down your burdens
Lay down your shame
All who are broken
Lift up your face
Oh wanderer come home
You’re not too far
Lay down your hurt
Lay down your heart
Come as you are
Come as you are
Fall in his arms
Come as you are
There’s joy for the morning
Oh sinner be still
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can’t heal
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can’t heal
