El arte de la Pollera ~ mujer y niño

I accompanied my friend to a dental appointment while I was in the city recently.  As I was sitting there waiting I surreptitiously took a photo of a painting that featured a woman in a pollera.pollera painting And as life imitates art or art imitates life I found one of my favourite pollera pictures;  that of a little one all dolled up trying to amuse herself.  And I changed life into art in a paint program…in the campo.pollera little girl_painting

Indacampo, though we only know each other virtually, there is a common thread I ‘hear’ you weave. It is one of a genuine, a real, person who is not only thoughtful and caring, but one who goes out of their way to help make others’ lives easier. If my perceptions of you are correct, our world needs more people like you. For you are weaving a beautiful tapestry of this thing called life.

Thank you for your kind comment. I think I’m a little overwhelmed and need to reflect a while… 🙂

I think I found your blog when I wanted to move to Panama, and I read everything I could about the country. I think it has been about a year and it is such a treat to read your posts. I enjoy your view of life. Thank you! I have pondered how old you are? Must be old to be so wise, but then you are technologically savvy so can’t be too old. You said a good way to measure your week is by the swim suits on the line and they were not old lady suits! So you are an ageless, gentle soul. My SU and I will be in Pedasi in two weeks, if I meet anyone I suspect is you I will ask them, tiene usted dos gatos?

You’re welcom, I appreciate the compliment! In today’s world and environment when so many people are working at tearing each other down it is a true gift and I accept it with gratitude. 🙂

As for my age, it’s only a number so I will admit that I will be a young 54 in a short two weeks. Wow, where has the time gone? It’s my baby brother’s birthday today, he’s 48. I can still remember wiping his nose. As for age, when I turned 40 I said I was going to begin counting backward every birthday, and I did for a few years. Then a friend told me that I should wear my age as a badge of honor. Now I do, but sometimes I think we all we like a little “do over”of some of the tough times we go through and of course repeats of the good times.

Thanks so much for visiting me in the virtual world! And if you do see me on the street I’ll more likely than not have a camera in hand or be taking pictures with my phone. Enjoy your time here!

I'd love to hear from you!
