The second market fundraiser for the year for the Animal Advocates/Defensores de los Animales took place today. As usual we had an early gathering of people beginning at 0600 for an 0800 start. Once the market was officially opened there was a stampede some likened to Black Friday in North America.
The market provides a way for people to give their unwanted items for recycling while contributing to our funds that help to sterilize the district dogs and cats. These fundraisers are a lot of work for our group and I think we’re all feeling tired.
You’ll see several smiling faces as the town folk collect around the entrance waiting to rush in. But after all this is Panama and they’re used to waiting…in the campo.
