Tapas at Sunset

Those of you who have followed the bouncing ball (or am I dating myself?) know that I’ve become involved with helping with some fundraising to support the spaying and neutering of the pets in the district. There was a little fundraising event that took place on Wednesday afternoon into early evening.  This first event was kept necessarily small but surprisingly, at least from my estimation, it ended up being larger than what was originally planned.  It seemed that everyone in attendance had a good time enjoying drinks and tapas into the sunset at Villa Esplendorosa.  I normally don’t publish a lot of pictures of people but today I’d like to share some of the faces in the community that came out to support our group.

A beautiful view from the middle deck on a sunny day…

Connie and Mikkel, Connie’s blog is Our Third Life – Pedasi, Panama…

2

Every event has to have someone to lead the way and this is the gal who did it for this one…

3

Mi amiga demonstrating how delicious the food is…and she’s probably going to kill me for putting this on here, but isn’t she looking lovely?

4

“Selfie” is the new word of the year.  Selfies were also a fun activity at the event…

5

Yeah, that’s me…the makeup was already sweating off before I even got the dress on…

6

I have no idea what we were laughing about but we’re having fun, Dusty was taking the photo…

7One day I’ll get a picture of El Gordo without a beer in his hand.  At least it’s not one in each this time…

Drawing for raffle prizes.  Who wouldn’t buy tickets to win a spa day, meals at restaurants or a fishing trip?  Our hostess for the afternoon is wearing the hat…

B

A group pic…

A blind kitten was looking for a new home and Dusty was trying to make sure she found one.  I think she was successful…

DFrivolity all around…

DAnd…there’s the sunset…

ESU was so busy exploring every corner of the house and grounds ensuring that I didn’t capture one picture of him.  It was a great afternoon and to paraphrase one of mi amigas; life certainly doesn’t suck when you get to get dressed up and have some fun on a weekday in the campo.

Love to see the pictures! And actually a pic of you! Enjoy those dry days albeit with the makeup running off 🙂

Humidity is one of the reasons I don’t wear all that goop. And the “glow” that goes with it. 🙂

Looks like you had a wonderful time and what a great thing you are going volunteering for this group. We can’t wait to put our feet on Panamian soil again in two weeks!

  4. You look beautiful & tanned & what a wonderful fund raising cause. Animals bring such joy to people.

      Well gracias!

And yes, we’re fortunate that we don’t have a huge problem with strays and overpopulation but it’s still more than what we would experience in North America. If we start now with education then maybe we will avoid future problems.

      Ooooh, you’re welcome.

I saw that little blind kitty yesterday. What a sweetheart. If I wasn’t sure that Boomer would eat him for breakfast I’d take him myself.
