Gecko Pahtayyyy!

I was reading recently about how scientists at the University of Alberta have studied geckos feet to aid them with developing an ultra sticky bandage.  Apparently their little feet are full of millions of tiny hairs, each being a thousand times smaller than a human hair and it’s these hairs that prevent them from falling off a wall or a ceiling.

If any of those scientists had wanted to study geckos last night our back porch would have been the perfect place to do it.  We had the most geckos that we have ever seen.  The most I’d ever counted before was six; last night there was sixteen.

We’ve had some big rainstorms recently interspersed with hot sunny days.  It appears that the weather has brought another change in the bug population and so it is feasting time for the geckos.  And that’s fine with me as long as they stay outside with their meals.  We were outside a little later last night and I managed to capture some of the little bug zappers as they partied down in style in the campo.

Gosh, I’m just glad that the internet was working well enough so that I could share. Oh, and that they were all outside so I don’t have to dust their poopies off the furniture. 🙂
