La Reina de Escuela

After our time at the beach yesterday we drove around town getting air in one of the tires of the truck and picking up some last-minute items for la cena.  There were several people walking the streets so driving was a little difficult.  The town folk were gathering to watch the Desfile de La Reina de Escuela.  A parade held for the local school Queen and her court.

I tried to take some photos as they passed by on Calle Principal but one camera ran out of battery power and the other, well, I think it’s almost ready for the big camera home in the sky…or wherever cameras go when they’re terminado.  I did manage to get a few pictures and we met the group several times as we wound our way through town.  There’s nothing like a parade in the campo!

You did well in spite of the uncooperative camera, and I enjoyed seeing your parade 🙂

With it being a children’s event there wasn’t very many fuegos artificial set off and no partying until the wee hours. 🙂

I'd love to hear from you!
