Lightning, Oh Yeah!

Lightning occurs when water particles and ice move around in clouds forming positive and negative charges creating electricity.  The negative charges are usually closest to the positively charged ground beneath the cloud. This creates a pathway for the electricity or lightning creating a spark and a shock wave.  Sometimes it will go from cloud to cloud creating sheet lightning.

The lightning shows in the burg have been something to see the last few nights.  Last night there was a lot of rumbling, sheet lightning and lightning bolts.  Even though I don’t have a lot of fancy equipment I did somehow manage to get what I thought were a couple of nice pictures.  Until I saw other images on the internet; Google lightning, the pictures are amazing.   I guess if I wanted to spend a few hundred dollars on some fancy equipment my pictures would turn out amazing too.

Apparently there is this lightning thingy (I believe that is the technical term) that you can attach to your camera to get super dooper captures. Not so much into spending $300.00 for it though. 🙂

      Gracias!
