Smell the Sea and Feel the Sky

Hark, now hear the sailors cry
Smell the sea and feel the sky
Let your soul and spirit fly
Into the mystic

~ Van Morrison ~

Sunday evening we received an invitation to share a wonderful beach and the ocean with some friends as the sun began it’s descent from the sky. The day had been one of those brilliant blue sky days with only a few dark clouds lingering over the montañas and light white wispy clouds over the ocean.

It was another experience of the senses; the warmth of the water as we swam, finding shells, the beautiful sky, the birds seeking one last meal before the sun fell, the sound of the ocean, and the taste of a cold drink.   A beautiful evening in the campo.

Driving on the sand.

Driving on the sand.

The sun going down.

The sun going down.

The reflection of the clouds.

The reflection of the clouds.

And because I am unabashedly Canadian and I love the Colin James version of Into the Mystic:

A beach is a wonderful thing, and that last photo of the reflections of the clouds is really beautiful.

It did come out lovely didn’t it? I was trying to enjoy the moment and one never knows when one is just randomly snapping photos instead of trying to frame them perfectly. Gracias! 🙂

I'd love to hear from you!
