Thank you to Kris at The Panama Adventure for nominating me for an award. Not that I deserve it lately as I’ve really neglected this puppy in the last month. This is me taking a bow though…just use your imagination because as you know I’m adverse to publishing photos of myself even to close friends and family. Ok, check, check number one fulfilled!
Really though, any of my small following that is interested in what a retiree expat’s life is like as seen through the eyes of a newbie should really take a look at Kris’s blog. She takes beautiful photographs of her area around David (pronounced Daveed for you neophytes) and is discovering new things about her adopted home every day.
The rules of this award are as follows:
1. The nominees have to thank the person that nominated them.
2. Nominate a baker’s dozen of other Super Sweet Bloggers and let them know.
3. Answer these easy questions:
Cookies or cake?
Chocolate or Vanilla?
What is your favourite sweet treat?
When do you crave sweet things the most?
If you had a sweet nickname what would it be?
My nominees to pay it forward in no particular order are:
Why? I started reading this blog when we were researching Panama which now feels like many moons ago. Iris and Chris have definitely not had it easy but there are some lessons to be learned here.
Because they are living the dream…someday.
Look what you can do with some hard work, a guy who knows how to weld and the tenacity needed to build in Panama.
I go to Jan’s blog to try to find some of the birds around our backyard. One of the bird masters of Panama!
Like me Holly is all over the map with her subject and she tends to babble…like me. It’s been interesting to follow her blog as she and her husband prepare to make the move to Panama.
This blog is more informational than conversational. With some of the more newsy blogs/websites switching to a pay system it’s nice to read something for free.
I found this blog through the writer’s previous blog Two Girls and a Road. I admire that the writer has embarked on a whole new journey. She also takes beautiful pictures.
A fellow Canadian sick of winter. She hasn’t posted for a while, hope she isn’t buried in snow. She did send me a message saying that her local Dairy Queen does close in winter though…
Patrick takes the most beautiful photos of and around my home stomping grounds. Whenever I get homesick I take a trip to the Majestic Rockies through his site.
Because it takes me outside the box every once in a while.
Ok, why anyone would want to go to Edmonton in the winter is beyond me but hey, difference is what makes the world go around. Also love the recently posted photo of the Edmonton Queen on the frozen North Saskatchewan River. So typically Edmontonian!
Such a practical thinker and great recipes to boot!
I know Pam does not like to accept awards but her blog is, for me, worth stopping by almost every day. Her “travels inward and outward” truly is well written and thoughtful.
3. Answers to Questions
Cookies or cake? Cake of course!
Chocolate or Vanilla? Phfff, chocolate!
What is your favourite sweet treat? Hmmm, I would have to say brownies…with ice cream on top.
When do you crave sweet things the most? Does there have to be a certain time…how about all the time!
If you had a sweet nickname what would it be? I want to say “Sugar” but I think I’ll go with “Muffin” because some days that’s how I think I’m shaped.
I know you’re all waiting with baited breath to see where my meanderings take me in the coming days. Come on…you know you are! Well, I haven’t just been sitting on my tucous. I’ve taken what I would call a “butt load” of photographs of our little mini tour of our area during the in-laws visit and beyond. So follow along with me and take a break from winter in the “Home Country”. See you tomorrow!
